Privacy policy
This policy explains how Dictámelo, a Megacubos project, handles information on this website and in the official desktop app. Questions and privacy requests: support@megacubos.com.
Audio, text and your choice of processing
With your own API key, audio goes directly from your device to your chosen provider. Free Cloud and Pro send audio through our Supabase backend to Groq. Optional AI cleanup sends the transcript and relevant text instructions to the selected model. This is cloud processing and requires an internet connection.
Temporary audio created by Dictámelo is removed after processing. Your original imported file is not deleted. Our cloud database does not archive audio or transcript contents; it records usage and verification metadata. The AI provider’s processing and retention policies also apply.
Accounts and Google sign-in
Email/password registration uses Supabase Auth to manage your email, account identifier, authentication credentials and sessions. Resend delivers confirmation and password-recovery emails from no-reply@dictamelo.com.
If you choose Google sign-in, we request only openid, email and profile. Google provides your account identifier, email and basic profile information such as your name and profile picture, which Supabase Auth stores with your account. We use this information to sign you in, associate your cloud allowance with your account and support that account. We do not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, contacts or your other Google content. We do not use Google account data for advertising or AI model training, or send it to an AI provider for transcription.
Information kept on your device
Transcription history and settings stay on your device. History contains transcript text and related information such as time, model and duration; you can delete entries or clear it in the app. History is a local file, not an end-to-end encrypted cloud vault.
API keys, account sessions and license credentials use macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Manager. Microphone access records the audio you initiate; Accessibility or equivalent system permissions allow the app to insert text in the app you are using.
Cloud usage, purchases and support
We keep account or license identifiers, license status, request timestamps, audio duration, counts and request outcomes to provide access, enforce allowances and prevent abuse. Cleanup verification also stores transcript hashes, which are metadata, not anonymous data or a saved transcript.
Lemon Squeezy handles checkout, payment and subscription information under its policies. Our service checks license status and usage; it does not receive your full payment-card number. When you contact support, we receive the information you include. Avoid unnecessary recordings and never send passwords or API keys.
Service providers and website requests
Supabase provides authentication, backend processing and the usage database; Groq processes hosted audio and cleanup; Resend delivers account emails; Lemon Squeezy handles purchases. Personal-key mode uses the provider you configure. These providers process the information needed for their role and may process it outside your country.
Vercel hosts this website. Google Fonts delivers its fonts, and GitHub serves app downloads and update files. These services may receive technical request data such as IP address, browser information and timestamps. The site has no advertising or analytics integration and does not store a language-preference cookie; the initial language uses your browser’s language header. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and deletion
Local history remains until you delete it or it is replaced by the app’s history limit. Signing out or uninstalling does not delete your cloud account or reset its allowance. Account and cloud accounting records remain while needed for the account, usage enforcement, support, billing or security; there is currently no fixed automatic deletion schedule. A weekly allowance reset or cleanup receipt expiry does not erase these records.
To request access, correction or deletion of your account information, email support@megacubos.com from the account address. We may need to verify that the account is yours. Some billing, security, legal records or provider backups may need to remain under applicable obligations and provider policies. Deleting an account does not by itself cancel a paid subscription; request billing cancellation separately through your purchase details or support.
Your choices and policy changes
You can use personal keys without a Dictámelo account, disable optional cleanup, delete local history or revoke microphone permissions. You can remove Dictámelo’s Google access in your Google Account connections; this does not automatically delete the Dictámelo account or cancel a subscription.
Depending on applicable law, you may have additional rights over your information, including objections or complaints to a privacy authority. Contact us to exercise them. We will publish policy changes here with an updated date.
